Attaining knowledge cannot be isolated from fun because learning is not a duty to be fulfilled but an enriching journey to be travelled on…

So following the course, SLS DAV Public School is organizing Kshitij Ki Aur… 2016-an Inter-School Fest, a congregation of students from various schools of Delhi-NCR on 18th and 19th November 2016 (Friday & Saturday).

“Growth is never by mere chance; it is a result of forces working together.”

Kshitij ki Aur…2016 is an effort to bring together brains and spirits.

The details of the competitive events and registration form are enclosed. Kindly forward the entries at [email protected] or [email protected] latest by 08.11.2016 (Tuesday).

Our celebration would be greatly enriched by the participation of young enthusiasts. Looking forward to greet your students and appreciate their talent….

GENERAL RULES & REGULATIONS:

  1. Schools may register by sending their entries at [email protected] 0r [email protected] or by post to the school’s address latest by 08.11.2016 (Tuesday).
  2. Reporting time for all the events on each day: 08.30 a.m. to 9.00 a.m.
  3. Students have to come in proper school uniform unless & until specified & required for the event. I-cards are compulsory.
  4. Fill the Registration Form in Capital letters only.
  5. The decision of the judges will be final and binding for everyone.
  6. Although the host school will participate in the events, they will not compete for the prizes.
  7. The refreshment coupons can be collected from the registration desk at the time of registration.
  8. The Participation certificates can be collected from the registration counter at the time of leaving.

  10. Only One Team per Event is allowed.
  11. All creations / art work will become the property of the host school. They will not be returned back to the participants.
  12. The identity of the school should not be disclosed during the competitions. School Nos. allotted at the time of registration will be     mentioned in the events. Any such revelation may lead to disqualification.
  13. There are certain on-line events for which the entries have to be        submitted as per procedure mentioned in detailed instructions for individual events.

DETAILS OF THE EVENTS

 

1.MATH-TASTIC

 

Date of Event: 18.11.2016 (Friday)

Nature of Event: Team

No. of Team Members: 3 (One from each class)

Eligible for Classes: VI-VIII

Time for Presentation: 5-7 min.

Guidelines:

a.   Participants are free to choose any one mathematics topic from their curriculum and     create a game on it.

b.    The game should be developed by the students themselves and should comply with the relevant mathematical objective.

c.     Give a name to the game; prepare the game kit along with the rule sheet for the game. Also mention the age group for which it is designed and number of players for the game.

d.    Game completion time should be around 30-40 minutes.

e.    Each team will be given 5-7 minutes to present /explain the game and the concepts on which it is based.

f.     Game will be judged on the basis of concept clarity, explanation, innovation and presentation.

 

  1. ROBOTS AT WORK

Eligible for Classes: IX-X

Duration of the Event: 1 hr.

Theme: Robots in Industry, Military & for Senior Citizens

Guidelines:

  1. Participants shall bring their own robots.
  2. Robots should not be remote controlled or a toy.
  3. Robots should be programmed & Usage of any two types of sensors.
  4. No technical support would be provided. Participants have to bring their own laptop, software & Robotic Kits.

 

  1. AUDIO  TWIST

 

Date of Event: 18.11.2016 (Friday)

Nature of Event: Team

No. of Team Members: 2

Eligible for Classes: Open

Duration of the Event: 1 hr.

Theme: On-the-Spot

Guidelines:

  1. Software to be used - Virtual DJ or similar.
  2. A new music/ song has to be compiled with the given music files.
  3. Duration of the composed music piece: 3-4 min.
  4. Participants are required to bring their own head phones.

 

4.LOK DHWANI

 

Date of Event: 18.11.2016 (Friday)

Nature of Event: Individual

No. of Participant: 1

Eligible for Classes: VII-X

Duration of Presentation: 3-5 min.

Theme: Indian Folk Song of any State

Guidelines:

  1. The Participant will introduce the name of the folk song along with its state and the significance of the same.
  2. A maximum of 3 accompanists (only students) are allowed.
  3. Recorded & Film Music not allowed.
  4. The Participant should be in relevant folk costume of the corresponding state.

 

          5. RHYTHM SCAPE

Nature of Event: Team

Eligible for Classes: VI-VIII

Duration of Performance: 4-5 min.

Dance Form: Rabindra Sangeet

Guidelines:

a.            The Group should perform in costumes according to the dance form. No green room would be provided.

b.            Safe Props can be used.

c.             Music should be brought in CD / Pen Drive only.

d.            Film Music / Songs are not allowed. Album Music (Hindi / Bangla) can be used.

 

6.GLAMOROUS SCIENCE

 

Date of Event: 18.11.2016 (Friday)

Nature of Event: Team

No. of Team Members: 3

Eligible for Classes: VI-XII

Duration: 2 hrs. for costume designing & 3 min. for presentation

Suggested Themes:

(i)            Food Security

(ii)           Go Organic

(iii)          Nutrition & Innovation

Guidelines:

a.            The event is an amalgamation of using the participants’ scientific knowledge with creativity skills in costume designing.

b.            The participants from classes IX-XII are expected to design a costume including head gear and accessories on-the spot on any one of the suggested themes for the model from Class VI-VIII.

c.             The other two members would then explain the design of the costume and relevance of the theme in not more than 3 min.

 

7.PRODUCT DESIGNING & DEVELOPMENT: SHOWCASE

Nature of Event: Team

Eligible for Classes: IX-XII

Duration of the Event: 2.00 hrs.

Theme: On-the-Spot

Guidelines:

  1. Each team will design and make a suitable attractive package for product of their choice from the category/ theme given on-the-spot.
  2. An attractive logo must be a part of labeling on the package.
  3. The participants have to advertise the product along with a tagline.
  4. Advertisement can be bilingual but use of inappropriate language will lead to negative marking.
  5. The participants are required to bring their material for packaging and simple light weight props for their advertisement.

 

  1. VIDEO TWIST

Eligible for Classes: Open

Duration of the Event: 1 hr. 30 min.

Theme: On-the-Spot

Guidelines:

  1. Software to be used: Windows Movie Maker
  2. Participants have to prepare a movie from the given clippings on-the-spot.
  3. Duration of the movie should be 4-5 min.
  4. Usage of Internet / Flash drives / CD etc. not allowed.
  5. Key judgment criteria will include logical sequencing & flow, conceptualization, creativity, content, overall appeal & presentation.

 

  1. MIME SHOW

Duration of Mime: 4-5 min.

Guidelines:

  1. Participants need to come dressed.
  2. No material or green room would be provided.
  3. Audio to be brought in the form of CD.
  4. No props of any kind to be used.

 

  1. FIDDLING WITH SCRATCH

Guidelines:

a.            Software to be used: Scratch

b.            Students have to prepare a story on the given theme.

 

11.ZENTANGLE: DOODLE ART POSTER

 

Date of Event: 19.11.2016 (Saturday)

Nature of Event: Individual

No. of Participants: 1

Eligible for Classes: IX-XII

Duration: 1 hr. 30 min.

Suggested Themes for Doodling:

  1. Mindfulness
  2. Mental Well-Being
  3. Fitness of body-a dire need
  4. Pleasures of Childhood
  5. Ageing with dignity

Guidelines:

  1. The participant is expected to design a poster using Doodle Art on any one of the above mentioned themes.
  2. The participants have to bring their own material like colours, markers and other related stationery.
  3. A-3 size sheets will be provided by the host school.
  4. The Poster will become the property of the organisers.

 

12.LEGAL TANGLE

Duration of presentation: 5-7 min.

Suggested Themes:

                (i)            Consumer Protection: The Law

                (ii)           Banking & Insurance Ombudsman in India

                (iii)          Bribery & Corruption Ombudsman in India

                (iv)         Right to Information: The Law

                (v)          Constitutional Law: India

                                1. Right to Equality

                                2. Right against Arrest & Detention

                                3. Right to freedom of Speech & Expression

Guidelines:

  1. The Team has to present any one of the themes in the form of a Street Play.
  2. Participants are required to come in relevant costumes. No green Room will be provided.
  3. The teams are required to carry their own props, music instruments etc. if required.

 

  1. TREASURE HUNT

 

Date of Event: 19.11.2016 (Saturday)

Nature of Event: Team

No. of Team Members: 4-5

Eligible for Classes: IX-XII

Guidelines:

  1. One member from each class (IX-XII) is mandatory.
  2. The event will comprise of preliminary, intermediate and final rounds.
  3. Teams will be shortlisted after every round.
  4. In Preliminary round, teams will have to crack the given clues to find the objects and have to reach at the given venue.
  5. Teams would be given a trash of garments. Team members would have to design a dress form with those garments.
  6. Final Round comprises of riddles, puzzles, mystery questions etc.
  7. First ten registrations would be considered for competition.

 

 

14.JHANKAR BEATS

Theme: Fusion of Indo-Western Music

Guidelines:

a.            The Group may perform in costumes.

d.            No. of participants include the instrumentalists as well as vocalists.

d.            Film Music / Songs are not allowed.

 

 

 

15.LE RENDEZ-VOUS ! (RADIO SHOW IN FRENCH LANGUAGE)

Topic / Theme: LA FRANCOPHONIE

Guidelines:

a.            Characters must include Radio Jockey(s), one celebrity a guest, prank caller(s), gap fillers etc.

b.            The Presentation must be relevant to the given theme and also to be completed within the time frame.

c.             The judgment will be strictly on the basis of usage of French language, accents & pronunciation, relevance, creativity and originality

d.            Participants need to bring their own musical instruments and props to enhance their performance.
