Children’s workshops in May and June’16

 

Reading Challenge! (5 days workshop)

Conducted by: Reeba Kapoor

Date: 15 May – 12 June 2016 (Every Sunday)

Age groups:

Group A: 9 to 13 years – 11:00 a.m. – 01:00 p.m.

Group B: 5 to 8 years –   02:00 p.m. – 04:00 p.m.

The much awaited reading initiative is back again under the flagship ‘Reading Challenge’ 2016, Record Breakers.

Children will read the latest and most popular books from the UK with activities and events designed to create a buzz.

The Record Breaker is a combination of fun, freedom and creativity which focuses on developing and improving not just the reading skills of children, but also provides an array to boost their motivation and confidence.

So bring your child and gift them the joy of reading!

 

 

Be creative with camera!

Conducted by: Delhi Photography Club

A workshop exclusively designed for a neophyte to use photography creatively. Despite using the basic techniques, the sessions will enhance your photography skills and give you confidence to proudly display your creative output anywhere - be it in an album or on the walls. The interactive sessions will provide experience of both indoor and outdoor photography.

In this workshop learn about:

  • Megapixel myth
  • Functions of camera including settings of white balance, portrait, macro, landscape photography.
  • Use different lighting situations to create drama in photos.
  • Using fill in flash cleverly during the daytime.
  • Learn the principles of composition and framing.
  • Posing and portraiture for solo, group of two or three people

Getting into teens

Children are born with an innate desire to know more.  How? Why? and What? bothers them about everything.   This workshop especially designed for preteens and teens , aims at focusing on dealing with psychological issues that arise with the physiological changes, the significance of dealing with mood swings,  managing anger and any negative influence.  The age appropriate activities like short role play will be performed during the workshop which will provide a stimulating environment that encourages the cognitive growth and development of kids.

Storytelling through dance movement!

Articulation is a skill that young minds should develop. The creative forms like dance, drama, music and movement are unique and powerful tools that help develop thinking, creative and interpersonal skills.

Dance - Brings positive energy and drives children to throw all inhibitions and develop confidence.

Drama - Adds spark and flair to their story narration. It improves enunciation, articulation and comprehension.

Project Avishkaar workshop (Four Days Workshop)

This program gives an overview of designing machines to the children. They first design simple machines and later apply scientific concepts such as Momentum, Centre of Gravity, Gear Systems and Pulley Systems to create various machines. The concepts introduced are age appropriate.

This workshop is intended to understand "the real you". Writing skill is not developed effectively in the schools so writing exams becomes ineffective for some. This fun filled workshop promises to impart the right stimuli to the participating candidates and help them develop their creativity through writing. Learn the art of writing stories, diary entries, poster making, letter writing and composing advertisements.
