  • Being a Gold Medalist in Journalism, I have written about ‘APARTHEID AND RACIAL DISCRIMINATION IN SOUTH AFRICA’. I have also written a number of articles on children’s literature. I keep on writing on topics like Child Labour, Human Rights, DAV Movement, India’s Education Scenario, Gender Bias & Intolerance for Girl Child, Sustainable Development, Girl Foeticide and much more through different media.

  • A series of workshops are organized in our school for students as well as for teachers based on the principles of “Being Mindful in Education” and in various areas of life.   • Physical Education in Curriculum (PEC) has been taken up in an extensive way in our Primary Classes through the use of PEC Cards. Concepts like Dodging Tables, Prime Numbers, Identification of Shapes, Body Parts, Grammatical Concepts and many more are being dealt with PEC Cards very effectively.

 

  • Highly effective Sensorial Activities are being taken up with Nursery and Elementary deptt. students to enhance their sensorial skills of listening, recognition of sounds, development of attention span, differentiating between tastes, classifying objects by the sense of touch and vision; so on and so forth. All these activities also help to enhance the vocabulary of the children.

 

  • Under the aegis of Heritage Club and Theme of the Month for DAV Haat, students of Class VI onwards exhibit a magnificent display of all the aspects ranging from Geography, Culture, Heritage Sites, History, Lifestyle, Handicrafts, Cuisine, Tourism etc. of the Theme Indian States like Kerala, Assam, Himachal Pradesh, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal etc.

 

  • The school holds events and activities specially dedicated to each subject  like Expressions for English Language, Strotasvini for Hindi, Bhavanjali for Sanskrit, Parle-en-Francais-French Fiesta for French events, Heritage for Social Science, Anveshan for Sciences, Octave for Mathematics, E-Comm Funda  and Corporate Funda for Commerce and Economics, Les Dessinateurs for Fashion events, Disha and Pradyotnam for Counselling programmes and Parishkrit meant for IT related events. All these events are organized and conducted by the respective Subject Clubs.

 

  • Exclusive Counselling Department along with Special Education wing to cater to the special needs of our students in academics, life-skills, career guidance, and emotional, psychological and social protocols of life. We are strongly in the favour of the concept of Inclusive Education, take care of slow learners, Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, Autism, ADHD, Hyper-activity cases, Physically challenged and multiple disability cases. Special assignments and projects are created for gifted students, for the weaker students, special remedial classes and tutorials are held to help them come up to the class level in addition to the Peer Facilitator Group working at every class level. The Peer Facilitators also help the Counsellors to conduct sessions on Life Skills with the student groups.
